George Zakaria is an Egyptian audio engineer, sound designer and multi-disciplinary artist based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
His passion for audio has taken him from audio post-production for award-winning titles, to education at Toronto Metropolitan University Cairo, and later to broadcast audio where he currently works designing audio production systems for the region's most notable broadcasters. He holds an MA in Audio Post-Production from Arts University Bournemouth and a diploma in Spatial Audio & Ambisonics from UCL.
In parallel with his professional career, George is also a musician and a visual artist working with Eurorack modular synthesis, livecoding and oud to create sound installations and performances which were showcased between Cairo and London. He works with TouchDesigner and VVVV to create visual systems that respond to the audio performance.
George has co-founded Asyad Al-Noom, an ambient music sleepover that invites people to listen, sleep and dream in unison.
